What is presbyopia (age-related farsightedness)?

Middle aged business man with reading glasses sitting at a desk in the office. He is reading something during a telephone conversation.

Presbyopia is not caused by an error in the eye's "optical structure" but by the flexibility of the eye's lens decreasing when you get older which causes increasing farsightedness; therefore, it is also frequently referred to as age-related farsightedness.

To be able to see small print or nearby objects clearly, most people wear reading glasses. However, it takes some getting used to those, and some people don't feel comfortable with them. If you have presbyopia but want to live independently from your reading glasses, we can offer you modern laser or lens surgery procedures to improve your near-distance vision.
